The activities around the Chilko River Lodge are endless..
Most of our guests prefere to discouver the chilko area through horseback riding. Our guided trail rides are enjoyable for everybody and go from just short trips for beginners to day tours for the more experienced riders. Quite often our guests have never sat on a horse before - if this is the same for you, don't let it stop you from trying horseback riding. It is a great way to enjoy the country.
horseback riding: $ 25 per hour
When you come out west you must see the wonderful Chilko Lake and Chilko River. We offer guided boat tours with a jet boat on the river and motor boat on the lake. On the lake you have the possibility for fishing or just take in the beautiful scenery. From the lake you can keep your catch within the fishing regulations. On the river is catch and release only.

Jetboat: $ 160 + tax. (based on 4 Person / aprox. 2 hours)
Motorboat: $ 120 + tax. half day; $ 180 + tax. day (gas extra)
rent a boat:
Pantoonboat: $ 40 + tax. (river run)
Motorboat: $ 80 + tax. per day (gas extra)
A variety of wildlife are living in the area. You may see Bald Eagles, Golden Eagles, Deer and Beaver. During mid August the sockeye salmon begin arriving. All of September the waters of the Chilko River are alive with spawning red salmon - truly a sight to see! This in turn draws the bears closer and makes this the best time for possibly viewing and photographing Black Bears and Grizzly Bears.
You like to be active on your own? There are nice hiking and biking trails close by. You can bring your own mountain bike and enjoy the breathtaking landscape.
